Vimala Convent, Shajapur

Vimala Convent, Shajapur, one of the pioneer convents was established on 25th June, 1970 at Shajapur in Ujjain diocese, Madhya Pradesh.  In the beginning from 1969 sisters were staying  in a rented house in Ujjain. The pioneers of this convent were Sr. James, Sr. Irene, Sr. Pious and Sr. Lucina. A new convent was constructed and blessed on 19th  April 1978 by Bishop Mar John Perumattom and sisters started to stay in the new building. In the beginning sisters were engaged in the healing and education ministry; later the dispensary was closed down due to lack of patients.
